The Belmont County Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) is located in the Belmont County seat of St. Clairsville and is the prime point of contact for regional economic development. Belmont County’s historically valuable geography makes this Ohio gateway to the West a diverse and rich business, social and cultural hub bordering Southeastern and Northeastern Ohio.

Lawrence Economic Development Corp.
The Lawrence Economic Development Corp. offers numerous services to area businesses and the community. The services include, but are not necessarily limited to, financing assistance, technical assistance, resource information, community enhancement, industrial development, industrial development bonds and site and building inventory.
Morgan County/Eastern Ohio Development Alliance
Morgan County is a member of the Eastern Ohio Development Alliance, which, through the cooperation of its 16 member counties, promotes the economic growth of the region. Morgan County provides a viable atmosphere for new businesses to bloom. Opportunities abound in the new EEZ Enterprise Zone, where dreams turn into successful businesses.
Muskingum County Business Incubator
Formed in 2004 through collaboration by business owners, higher education institutions and local/state government, MCBI was founded to help grow economic activity in Southeastern Ohio. In 2011, MCBI moved to its present 55,000-square-foot facility on Pinkerton Road. While the focus remains on business development services, the facility provides a strategic location for early stage companies to reside during the initial lean years.
Ohio Third Frontier
Ohio Third Frontier is an internationally recognized technology-based economic development initiative that is successfully changing the trajectory of Ohio's economy. The $2.1 billion initiative supports existing industries that are transforming themselves with new, globally competitive products and fosters the formation and attraction of new companies in emerging industry sectors. Ohio Third Frontier provides funding to Ohio technology-based companies, universities, nonprofit research institutions and other organizations to create new technology-based products, companies, industries and jobs.
Ohio University
Ohio University is a major engine of economic growth in Southeast Ohio. Ohio University generated approximately $1.5 billion in economic impact on the state of Ohio in 2012, and up to $104 million in state and local tax revenue in 2012 by activity associated with the university. Ohio University spending also supports more than 14,300 full-time and part-time jobs.
Ohio University Center for Entrepreneurship
A partnership of Ohio University’s College of Business and Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, the Center for Entrepreneurship builds upon and raises to new levels longstanding efforts at the university and throughout the region to provide entrepreneurial education, business assistance services and investment capital for entrepreneurs and start-up businesses.
Ohio University Technology Transfer Office
The Ohio University Technology Transfer Office's mission is to facilitate the transfer of intellectual property to business and industry through the development and management of a high-quality portfolio of diverse technologies, ensure intellectual property rights, negotiate and execute licensing agreements and, when feasible, assist in the formation of start-up businesses that utilize the university's technology to provide benefits to the university, as well as the regional economy.
