OU Eastern Shark Challenge

The OUE Shark Challenge will feature teams of students from regional colleges and universities. Returning from last year’s event will be Ohio University Eastern, Belmont College, Ohio University Zanesville, and defending champions, Eastern Gateway Community College. A newcomer joining the competition this year will be Kent State Trumbull. Each team will consist of three students and a faculty advisor to serve as coach.

Presenting to a panel of three judges, these teams will be competing to win a first-place prize of $1,000. A second-place prize of $500 will also be awarded. The event is free and open to the public.Light refreshments will be provided at the event. For more information on the OUE Shark Challenge, email OUESharkTeam@ohio.edu.

Entrepreneurship Roundtable

The public is invited to an upcoming series of local entrepreneurship roundtable events, engaging the community in a conversation focused on new business development, business growth and new job creation. Community members and students who are interested in starting a business, growing a business, or making a small business better should attend the roundtables. A wide variety of well-known local business owners will share their start-up and growth stories at each event. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to participate in an active question and answer session with the panelists, coordinated by a professional in business start-up development and growth. Professional and Executive Program Leadership Seminar

The Ohio University Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs seeks to educate leaders about those strategies by launching a new professional and executive education program with an upcoming seminar.  The seminar will focus on leadership in the public sector. Dr. Jim Mahoney, the Former Executive Director for Battelle for Kids, will deliver a key note address to share his thoughts on leadership practices.

The seminar will take place at the Dublin Integrated Education Center and requires a registration fee of $200 per person. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Front-line supervisors and managers, mid-level managers, and high potential employees in local, state or non-profit organizations are encouraged to attend.
